Lately, you have probably seen ads for 4KTV’s. 4K TV’s will be the hottest electronics gifts this holiday season but you may not really know what they are and how they differ from an HD or flat screen TV. Here is the info you need to decide if YOU need a new 4KTV to improve YOUR TV viewing experience.
First, let me explain what they are (and are not). These TVs use Ultra HD – ultra high definition (UHD) technology for a cleaner, sharper picture than any of the current HDTVs on the market (or in your livingroom).
4K TVs differ from HDTV in that they have about four times the resolution! Technically, 4K refers to the display resolution of 4096 x 2160 as compared to anything from 1024 x 768 to 1920 x 1080 for HDTV. That higher resolution delivers a sharper, more life-like image display which reviewers refer to as “stunning”.
4K TVs are similar to a Flat screen TV in that they are flat and can be hung on a wall but the picture quality is much better. If you already have a flat screen TV but are looking for a new and/or larger TV, a 4K is the next generation and for a few bucks more than the HD models, ‘future-proofing’ your system with this cutting edge technology may be worth considering.
If you have a large screen TV and have found the resolution less than impressive, you must give 4K a try. This is especially true with smaller rooms. It used to be the case that you needed more distance from the TV to get a good view. With 4K TVs you can put your nose right up to the screen and it is like looking out your window!
If you already have an HDTV and you are ready for a bigger one or if you are looking for a home theater experience in your family room, a 4K TV is the way the go.
And if you are a sports fan, this is the next best thing to being there. Unless you have seats ON the field, you can be sure that the 4K TV view from your couch will be better than the view from any seat in the stadium!
